Portland folk guitar innovator Marisa Anderson announces new album Still, Here and releases a new single, 'Waking'. Following on from two incredible collaborative albums from the last couple of years, The Quickening with drummer Jim White and Lost Futures with William Tyler, Anderson steps out on her own again for solo guitar record. 'Waking' is a sparse and understated nylon string acoustic track, a demonstration in subtlety and beauty and an example of Anderson's ability to communicate with a wordless eloquence, building worlds through the gentle plucking of strings. The album will be released on 23rd of September on Thrill Jockey Records, who describe the upcoming record as, "undeniably moving music, tracing through traditional folk tunes, imagined Sci-Fi films, and foggy sanctuaries of sound." -Toby Evans-Jesra
